Shree Bhumedevi Primary School Gahare
School reconstruction project
The project
After the earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2015 the association Hugging Nepal drives the reconstruction of Shree Bhumedevi Primary School in Gahare (Nuwakot) – a small village located 8 hours north of Kathmandu. The project is carried out jointly by the association and the families, the latter being in charge of its construction while Hugging Nepal provides technical and financial means. The project aims to go beyond the school building, generating public space to act as a meeting point for a population scattered throughout the extensive slope that characterizes the area. The construction is determined by the materials available and the feasibility of getting them to a remote and rugged area where the nearest road is 3 km away.
