The project is located in the old town of Peralada<\/strong>, in a single-family house that has been in disuse for many years. The property preserves elements of great interest, especially on the ground floor: an old cellar, stone walls and a stone floor. In addition, there was an open space on the main fa\u00e7ade which, although not built, has become the backbone of the whole intervention. <\/p>\n\n The task was to rehabilitate the house to meet the needs of a young couple, updating it functionally and energetically. The main challenge was the lack of outdoor space. The answer has been to convert the front wall into a courtyard that structures the project<\/strong>: an outdoor space that gives light and air, which expands the interior life and establishes a new relationship between the house and its surroundings. <\/p>\n\n The ground floor is destined to parking and access, keeping visible the original elements: the cellar, the stone and the turn. On the first and second floors the spaces are completely reorganized. The staircase is relocated to a secondary position<\/strong>, less protagonist, in order to free up surface area and allow all the rooms to be articulated around the courtyard<\/strong>, which is the true center of the house. The second floor houses the day area – living room, dining room, kitchen and toilets – directly linked to the courtyard. The second floor concentrates the night area, with bedrooms, bathrooms and a reading area. Finally, the third floor is designed as a bright studio with terrace. <\/p>\n\n The project combines the recovery of historical elements with a comprehensive renovation that incorporates insulation, efficient plumbing and efficient thermal systems <\/strong> with radiant floor heating, ensuring a high level of comfort and energy efficiency.
